Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Attested’s identity verification platform. By accessing or using the service you agree to be bound by them. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
The service
Attested provides a candidate identity verification service that confirms a person controls a specific corporate email address and matches a specified LinkedIn profile. Verification results represent a confidence signal, not a guarantee of employment, identity, or suitability for any role.
Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
- You must notify us immediately at hello@attested.work if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per organisation unless you have a written agreement with us.
Acceptable use
You may use the service only for lawful hiring and employment screening purposes. You must not:
- Run verifications on individuals without a legitimate hiring relationship
- Use results to discriminate on any protected characteristic
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the service without our written consent
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the platform
- Submit false or fabricated candidate information
Candidate consent
You are solely responsible for ensuring candidates have been informed that a verification will be requested and have consented to participate. Attested provides the verification mechanism; the legal basis for processing in your jurisdiction is your responsibility to establish.
Pricing and payment
Verifications are billed per check at the rate shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Volume discounts apply automatically above 500 checks per month. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where Attested fails to deliver a result through no fault of the candidate.
Results and limitations
Verification results confirm specific signals at a point in time. They do not constitute:
- A background check or criminal record search
- Confirmation of qualifications, certifications, or work history
- A guarantee that a candidate is currently employed at any organisation
- Legal advice or a compliance determination
You should not make hiring decisions based solely on Attested results. The service is one signal among many.
Intellectual property
Attested retains all rights in the platform, software, and aggregated (non-personal) insights derived from usage. You retain ownership of data you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process that data to deliver the service.
Confidentiality
Each party agrees to keep the other’s confidential information private and to use it only as necessary to perform obligations under these Terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Attested’s total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
Termination
Either party may terminate at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without notice. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you at least 14 days’ notice of material changes by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
